Construction of a new bus station in Delft has barely begun, but the cycle parking is in already! A bit of a contrast to Britain, where it comes as a delayed afterthought.
Contrary to popular opinion, the place for cyclists in the Netherlands can be on the road - the canalside path is for pedestrians only (plenty of dog-walkers).
One alternate lane for motor vehicles, but two lanes for cyclists (one on a specially built bridge).
Inside a Dutch train - the sign reads, in English 'A folding bicycle may be carried free of charge. Other bicycles may be carried only outside peak times and you will need to pay an additional charge'.
This area of the cycle park is now closed, to allow the railway to be put underground (there's plenty more parking at the rear of the station).
Thousands of bikes at Delft station - the sign in the foreground says that bikes will be removed from the railings (the railway lines at the rear are to be put underground).
No cycles or mopeds to be locked to these railings, for some reason - a rule that is obeyed, naturally.
