The Olympic authorities (or maybe Royal Parks) have got the right idea for temporary road closures. No through motor traffic here for a month, but the pavement has been converted to a cycleway.

New Bit was, on 22 September 2010, closed for widening and resurfacing; the works are still taking place to my knowledge.

Traffic lights and alternating two-way traffic while Trinity St is closed for work on underground pipes

The cattle grid doesn't actually seem to keep the cattle on the fen, so it's been blocked off and cyclists, buggies, wheelchairs (in theory) have to go through the gate.
