My wheelchair-user friend can't see why a new ramp is needed at Cambridge station - but at least cyclists have now stopped locking bikes to it. Why does it need railings at all?

New contra-flow scheme, Norfolk Park Rd. We thought they were going to go for a more minimalist "except cyclists" approach but they've gone for plenty of engineering!
Its a few minutes walk at Retford station from the North/South lines to the East West line. If going to the far platform there are steps to climb and descend, the near platform has a lift which was out of action on this visit.
Instead of bollards for filtering access in Oldenburg there put these much more visible fence pieces inplace. While they reduce throughput capacity, they are much more visible than bollards which can easily be overlooked when other cyclists ... [more]

Railings onto a raised bridge built in the 1980s. The bridge (Amalienbrücke in Oldenburg) has segregated cycle lanes on all four sides. Two stairs with railings provide a shortcut.

This is the river walk in Truro. Its a narrow path that alternates sides across the river and passed through a restaurant at one point.

The gaps underneath these sections of busway are there to allow baby toads access to and from the nearby lake.
