East Road. Cyclists leaving the subway cycleway bypass round the Newmarket Rd roundabout have to stear around street furniture. This rainy day Mr Mondeo took care of blocking the dropped kerb, despite of the big bicycle painted right in fro ... [more]
Dismounting on a cycleway. For drivers this is the equivalent of having to get out of your car and push! This obstruction badly lets down the Cambridge South East Cycle Route - which was built in the early 1990s as an alternative the the b ... [more]
Roadworks sign - was anyone aware that this is a contraflow cycle lane, so cyclists are now forced into the path of oncoming taxis from the station, SUVs from St Mary's school etc ?
Over-grown bypass lane on 60mph section of road! The Fulbourn 30mph zone should be extended beyond the pinch-point, and the bypass lane kept clear. Reported to County Council.
The dis-used bus stop is too narrow, cars park on the pavement with one side and obstruct the mandatory cycle lane on the other. This picture was taken on day two after Ian Greasley forwarded message to the "Local Authority Parking Enforcem ... [more]

Pram arms on the cycleway (note the cycle symbol on the ground and the directional signage in the distance.)
Pram arms on bollards, and then a fence. They really don't want you to get past here, and the graffiti says "Time to die".
Stupid Greenway barriers that should be banned Location: East Ham, London (England, United Kingdom)
Provide a suitable way for cyclists to get onto the busway cycle track. The bridleway just to the North is a death trap with a base of loose cinders intermixed with sharp wires and other rubbish, designed to give punctures.
A bike ride between Cambridge and Babraham. This gate and narrow gap next to it would be hard to see at night. This path is a bit rough and not suitable for small wheeled bikes.
A bridge hostile to anyone with wheels, so that's push-chairs, wheelchairs, bikes, mobility scooters etc. Presumably designed like this to stop those pesky cyclist? (But that would be imputing motive, which we must not do.)
This photo shows the channel that has been added to the station footbridge (which is still under construction). Rather than a channel, it seems to be just an angle girder, and is directly underneath the handrail, as shown in #35031. It l ... [more]

The issue is in the bus/cycle lane westbound on Newmarket Road, at the junction with Ditton Lane. It's sort-of an obstruction. The traffic lights for the bus/cycle lane default to red unless there's a bus with a transponder coming. However, ... [more]
Pedestrians are being squeezed onto the bike path by the appearance of more and more outside seating for cafés and restaurants - presumably for the benefit of smokers.
If I remember well, there's two barriers near tesco that make almost impossible to pass with a bike trailer and my kids on it.
Dutch Flower Shop in Woolton Liverpool. Despite many polite requests, it insists on blocking the cycle lane (double yellow lines!) all year around. The police seems to be very ineffective in sorting this out.
This vehicle is part obstructing access to the cycle route. It's also parked partially across the pavement and across some double-yellow lines on the corner of the road.

The metal bollards at this location (and others along the cycle path following guided busway) can't be seen in the dark, even with bike lights, as the bollards have no reflectors. Very dangerous hazard, suggest reflectors be mounted on the ... [more]
Chicane on the Milton Keynes redway system - dunno why the yellow posts that are normally used have been taken away here.
Gates locked at finsbury gate, finsbury park, forcing cyclists into narrow gateway with pedestrians, buggies etc
My mother has been a keen cyclist for many decades and has now begun to ride a trike. She finally steeled herself to ride into town on Saturday only to find that the speed bumps/ bollards on Grange road are an obstacle for her. She is unabl ... [more]
No sign yet of the promised cycle wheeling channel on the new staircase at Cambridge Station CBG.
Erk! These boulders are probably necessary to stop joyriding vehicles but in the dark they're a real threat to the unsuspecting rider.
Myrtle Road cycle track (see #34250) viewed from Aikenhead Road, showing the high kerb built right across it, confirmed as contractor error.

Road closure on Whitevale Street that could be opened to cycles. Useful north/south route linking Bridgeton and Dennistoun.
New urban shared use footway on Gallowgate, near Parkhead Forge shopping centre. Bus shelter blocks most of footway, leaving just 1.15m between shelter and edge of kerb!
Cycle lane being treated as car park during operational hours. Poor enforcement. Segregated track needed away from frightening double deckers.
Car parked on mandatory cycle lane during operational hours. Segregated track needed, with kerb to separate from motorised vehicles.

The fence blocking this cycle path has caused a couple of near misses between cyclist and pedestrians.
Thoughtless allowing of a hot potato vendor's larger stall on Parker's Piece. Moving it to the right a few metres would solve the problem

This gate does open briefly to allow staff and students access to Chesterton Community College. But it seems that local residents prefer it to be kept shut at other times. Its quite a long walk / cycle round.
These new posts obstruct cycling along the Cam , off the surfaced path, between Cambridge and Grantchester . The bridge was paid for by taxpayers money. I think the county council should seek to adopt the cycle and foot paths on the meadow ... [more]
This could easily be an excellent cycle route but I have to choose between mud or gates.
This could be a useful, safe, cycle underpass but I have a choice of getting muddy or wrestling with the gates.

This popular cycle route is obstructed by a gate. While it is useful to slow cyclists here using this gate is awkward.
Why does this new development have all this dreadful caging rather than a direct pedestrian crossing?
The bushes along the path are overgrown for quite a distance, pushing pedestrians and cyclists onto the grass. The footing is less firm, and there could be an accident.
There is a 'no cycling' sign here, which I'd argue belongs to a less enlightened time. This path is wide and quiet. The only possible problem is the blind corner. Perhaps a polished metal plate as a mirror would solve that.
Surprisingly uncyclefriendly road closure by the main cycle route along the west bank of the Ouse in York.
Quite a detour to cross from one corner of this road to the other, due to the guard-railing
Property management and scaffolding vehicles blocking the contraflow cycle lane yet again.

Very poor access to the bridge across the Canal Saint-Martin at the Parc de la Villette, Paris - cycles are banned from the lifts, and this one is out of use anyway.

A smoother way through this gap would be good - the cobbles are uneven, and the addition of a disabled parking space has made this worse.
Gate at entrance to Clyde Walkway next to David Livingstone Memorial Footbridge in Bothwell. The section of walkway from here to Uddingston, past Bothwell Castle, is suitable for cycling.
There are lots of these gates on the Milngavie to Drymen section of the West Highland Way
Gates at road crossing in Croftamie. The other ends of the paths are open, and the surface on the cyclepath is a bit rough, roads somewhat smoother.
Dropped kerbs and parking restrictions needed to open up this link to Marlborough Leisure Centre for cycling.
