Journey Planner - plan a cycle journey to
[Image taken 29.4.21] Hoardings on Bridge Lane (between Wigginton Road and the York-Scarborough rail line) York. They don't come cheap. £30k is a realistic estimate of what these cost. They are likely to remain in situ for 72 weeks from when work starts. (There's no date for that yet.) They are an opportunity to promote the organisation (see: #165295), to inform (see: #165292), entertain (see: #167102) and engage (see: #165206). But they can be intimidating and create an unsafe feeling space that depresses active travel (see: #165208 from 2.3.21). Plus, this is a site providing NHS healthcare. Most people who pass it will therefore be stakeholders and should know what is planned. Since that image was taken the lighting here has been extended the full length of the route and is on all the time. The route is used likely round the clock by pedestrians and cyclists including shift workers at the hospital and elsewhere, visitors and suppliers to the hospital, students, people delivering food, dog walkers...
