Journey Planner - plan a cycle journey to
[Image taken 10.7.22] Rowntree Park, York, [NOTE: No street view at this location.] The rider of this Robin Pashley trike, is also the user of the sticks. She was on the climbing frame. Her mum said, "She'll be using a trike for many years to come." She has an able-bodied sibling so the challenge is to find things they can both do. Now the family can enjoy Terry Avenue again and get to Rowntree Park. Terry Avenue – the route along the River Ouse - re-opened on Friday, 8 July. It had closed on Monday 17 May 2021 to through movements of all kinds (see: #164095). It was opened as the access to/from the camp site and the hotel for motor vehicles. Signage, speed humps, passing places and traffic lights (see: #182746, #18274) were installed. It became an intimidating unattractive, unsafe destination for non motorised-users... Now the disabled daughter and her sibling can, like thousands of residents and visitors, move around in a motor traffic-free environment (see: #166370). It's also comfortable in the heat too as there are mature trees for shade. It beggars belief then that diesel vehicles are permitted into this otherwise clean and quiet place... #184489.
