Below Castlecroft Road bridge, Wolverhampton. The sign is the start of the Kingswinford Railway walk [behind photographer to Wombourne and Himley] and the Smestow valley local nature reserve. These are both leisure routes on an ex-GWR trackbed but the Smestow Valley LNR [Wolverhampton City Council] is plagued by many restrictive access barriers, muddy cuttings and a 1/4 mile stretch of very loose gravel. The last gate for Wombourne-bound riders is in the background. These riders have joined the Railway Walk using the ramp down from the north side of Castlecroft Road. There are no gates between here and Wombourne - bliss!
