There has long been talk of the Derwent Valley Cycleway being extended southwards from where it currently ends just N of Matlock, through the Matlock gorge to Cromford and beyond. Completion of this stretch is long overdue, to ensure that cyclists don't have to use the busy A6 and its heavy truck usage.
