Traffic volume and speed is generally low here. However, a minority of speeding motorists and a sense of entitlement on the road can be enough to make it uncomfortable for both pedestrians and cyclists. I think this would be a great place for part pedestrianisation. Through good design and by creating the perception that it's a shared space, I think it has great potential to make an overall nicer experience for pedestrians, cyclists and disabled users, increasing space for social distancing, improving business, all without removing access to vehicles.
