Askam in Furness Cumbria . Ahhhhhhh a signed route Askam to Dalton #152330 . It starts off so promising heading towards Dalton. A nice path designated a shared use path and then this 1 METRE CYCLE LANE ON A 60 MPH ROAD . THERE'S ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE AS WELL YOU CAN HARDLY SEE IT. It would actually be safer and better without the cycle lane . I challenge any from @HighwaysEngland to cycle this and claim it's not terrifying. There's a far safer quieter and comfortable route by crossing the road a little further back toward Askam and joining the route past the Furness brick works and Chapel Hill Woods. See www.cyclestreets.net/journey/71774715/. Can @HighwaysEngland consider investing in improving this alternative route - signs, lighting, a better surface and negotiating with community to promote this alternative route rather than the death ride on the A595 twitter.com/Cyclinstructor/status/1311338824262451203
