The sign in the centre of the image indicates a cycle lane towards Croft Holme Lane. Croft Holme Lane is a rather intimidating stretch of road for cyclists and it has no cycle lane. See also #3120, #16530, #16531. The sign featured as "spot the cycle lane" feature in the Cambridge Cycling Campaign newsletter 17 back in 1998: www.camcycle.org.uk/newsletters/17/article20.html
The sign was removed in June 2009 - #17382, #17383 and end of route signs added - #17384, #17385 and route signs added to the shared use pavement - #17386, #17387.
