[Image taken 19.3.21] View of the ASL on Station Ave/Station Road, York, direction of Rougier Street, from the right turn on Lendal gyratory. A cyclist cannot access the safety of the ASL unless s/he was ahead of the traffic coming round the gyratory. (If you are at the back and the lights, as here, are red, you risk being rear-ended as the turn to this point is a blind one (through the city walls). It's a very cycle-unfriendly environment.
