The B401 (A road) along the Mittelland-Kanal has a segregated cycleway with smooth tarmac allowing for rapid progress. For most sections of the Mittelland-Kanal between Oldenburg and Dörpen, the side opposite to the B401 offers quiet tracks but with poor surface.
