But at its narrowest (between the upstands) it’s 218cm (actual width). Then you take off 25cm or 50cm each end in recognition you don’t get that close to a railing/pole. That makes the max usable space 168cm or 118cm: for people cycling across, walking as family/social groups, pushchairs, and passing other users in the opposite direction.
