[Image taken 23.4.21] Clifton Moor Gate, York. Peds-cyclists-wheelchair users can cross left (and continue on the road network, starting with the roundabout), turn right (Stirling Road), or continue over to Tesco... and the link to the (under construction at the time these images were taken see: #167361) toucan towards Hurricane Way and the additional retail park, but also the route (permeable-ish see: #167735 for people on foot/cycles) to Rawcliffe, Rawcliffe Country Park, and other active attractions. But there are no signs. There are no maps.
This drop kerb is not only where people cross Clifton Moor Gate but also the point people on cycles join from the direction of Tesco/the Tesco roundabout. The person on the cycle can have a driver who is close behind and moving quite fast but not be able to move onto the offroad, segregated route. The dual use is not clear to pedestrians waiting to cross. The space for both modes of travel and in all directions is simply inadequate and creates conflict. For images taken here today see: #167808 and links. For other images of this area and associated issues, search on 'Clifton Moor Gate' and 'Hurricane Way'.
