[Image taken 23.4.21] Tesco roundabout, Clifton Moor Gate, York. The only way for people on cycles to reach Longwood Road is to cross here. The tarmac on the left is not marked as a cycle path. Therefore you have to join the road (no provision, not easy) and enter the roundabout before you can exit left. For many people this would not be a logical or safe-feeling choice. You would join the path and keep on it - despite the narrowness and the blind corner. People on cycles also use this route (the road and the paths) to reach Hurricane Way. These are more direct, intuitive, logical, faster choices than staying on the other side of Clifton Moor Gate, crossing Stirling Road (in two stages) and crossing back again north of the roundabout. For more images of this crossing south of the roundabout see: #167815 and links.
