[Image taken 23.4.21] Clifton Moor Gate, York. The tarmac at this retail park was relaid in early 2021. For people on cycles coming round the outside of the car park (for example from Haxby, New Earswick) it's a big improvement on the uneven surface and potholes. No cycle-specific infra changes have been implemented and no signage has gone in. The Tesco Extra is just off the good network of offroad ped-cycle provision alongside the carriageways in this area of York. From this End of cycle lane you have to dismount and walk the last (approx) 100m to the site and a further (approx) 50m to the entrance. The crossing is shared use in both directions. Some people who had been on Clifton Moor Gate who are heading for the retail park and leisure attractions on the continuation of it will use the quicker more convenient route - the roundabout - to reduce the number of times you need to stop-start (see: #167815).
