[Image taken 2.5.21] Rowntree Park, York. This is an example of good practice regarding siting and spacing (but see the captions in the links ruling out this design as practical): cycle parking right where you want it, easy to find and with excellent surveillance. There is space around such that you don't need to lift a cycle or do multiple vertical point turns to get it in and out. Cycles are not at risk from movements by other vehicles. A bench would be good too (see: #167766). Parallel to the tennis courts. With no back so you face them or face away. Though this might mean you need a litter bin too if people snack here. All images (and issues with) these racks: #168287, #168288, #168289, #168290, #168291, #168292, #168293, #168294. Other racks in the Park: #168192, #166699
