[Image taken 5.5.21] This trike extends forward around 65cm from the front rack support. The space provided is not enough to provide protection or to accommodate longer cycles. In Chapter 8 of the London Cycling Design Standards (content.tfl.gov.uk/lcds-chapter8-cycleparking.pdf), the diagram Indicative layout 8/03a: Perpendicular cycling parking stand layout gives 0.9m as the minimum distance between the kerb and the stand. With longer cycles, including cargo-delivery-last mile designs being more widely available and popular I believe a more recent guide would increase that number.
