[Image taken 19.5.21] Layerthorpe, York. City of York Council has replaced the slotted grating in the carriageway with a grille. I believe this is the safe pattern for carriageway drainage. The previous design was a hazard for people on cycles: tyres/wheels could have been caught/trapped: #166146, #166147.
