[Image taken 9.5.21] Hurricane Way, York. There are no facilities for people on foot or cycles to exit B&Q and cross the four lanes to the other side of Hurricane Way.
Pedestrians are assumed to be happy to walk to one of the lit pedestrian crossings (neither is close), including the one in the image, activate the lights, wait, cross and then continue to their next port of call in this retail park.
It is assumed people on cycles will cross four lanes of traffic where they join the shared use path on the other side of Hurricane Way that is too narrow and has no drop kerb and continue with their shopping or their journey.
More realistic, if you are wanting to exit the retail area over Clifton Moor Gate, is that you cross one carriageway to turn left into this one. To get to the new (spring 2021) supersized toucan (see: #167362) across Clifton Moor Gate from this lane you now want to cross the carriageway (oncoming) to the right. But there is no drop kerb to join the island here here before the stop line. Other images this location today see: #169150 and links
