[Image taken 9.5.21] Hurricane Way, York. From the other side of Clifton Moor Gate (the road the pedestrians are crossing) to here, the design expects people on cycles to use that toucan crossing and the nearest one too to reach the path the image was taken from. If a cyclist is continuing straight through the area (it’s permeable to pedestrians and people cycling) the designers believed that person would remain on the shared use path. However, the width is woefully inadequate see: #167741. It is also interrupted in two places (including: #167348). At these locations path users have to give way to drivers entering and exiting the car parks off Hurricane Way see: #167342. As a result, many cyclists do not use the shared use path see: #169162.
