[Image taken 9.5.21] Clifton Moor Gate looking towards Hurricane Way, York. Many cyclists crossing here do not want to continue over to join the shared use path on the Sofology side of the road. However, when the toucan is green so too are the lights for drivers approaching from the right. This is not obvious when you are joining the carriageway rather than the path. This is one of changes people who cycle here need. The others are:
a) removing all the barriers at the entrance/exit at the Village Street end: what were the designers worrying about?
b) reaching B&Q, Argos, etc safely (right turns across two carriageways);
c) reaching the nearest crossing in this image intuitively, safely and conveniently when riding the entire length of Hurricane Way from the other end and/or after visiting the outlets on the right or on the left. The works that delayed many people for several months have not made my journeys safer or easier. I also cannot see benefits for other cyclists.
