[Image taken 18.6.21] Marygate car park, York. Unchecked growth, including fronds with barbs and plants that sting, from the rail line side of the fencing here reduces the width of the route and therefore the attractiveness and practicality of walking, scooting, cycling and wheelchairing. It started to rain as I took this image. People produced umbrellas which reduced the width still further plus they had to dodge both the vertical fronds but also the hanging ones (that get lower in and stay lower following rain) that would rake the umbrella.
