[Update: see: #172826] [Image taken 4.7.21] Marygate car park, York. Since the bam Nuttall hoardings/compound for works at Marygate/Museum Gardens (see: #169467) went up in May 2021, there’s only one pedestrian entrance/exit on this side of the car park and… when I passed today it was blocked. People arriving by car need to be able to exit the car park. Local people in wheelchairs cross from the other side of the car park through the opposite entrance (see: #169693) to here because it avoids the cobbles. I cross through the car park to avoid the cobbles and to go around the car park to avoid adding to the congestion/hazards of the bottom of the steep slope. School groups (see: #170267) who park their minibuses here need a gap on this to access the National Railway Museum. I’ve seen families cross from one side of the car park to the other and exit via a gap (see: #169843). The entrances/exits need to be formalised on this side. But equally all users need to take responsibility for their actions. Other image this issue: #172615. Other images today see: #171368 and links.
