When the former are ‘abandoned’ they become redundant, eyesores. They restrict the width of spaces. The sandbags come apart (see: #172738). The sand ‘travels’ with people movements, wind and rain. The mud (see: #168564) at the base/start of the steeper of the two slopes (with blind corners both sides) now has an additional hazard: a layer of grit on it. Sand/grit area hazard for people using all forms of wheeled modes of transport as you cannot stop reliably and you are at risk of skidding. Other image here today: #172737
