Each car parking space is worth around £13.50 for up to five hours according to the charges board (www.york.gov.uk/directory-record/404/esplanade-car-park). Galling because the income from car parking was given as the reason the cycle-ped-scooter-wheelchair route alongside Marygate car park - Railway Walk - was reduced in width by a car parking space earlier this year.
