With the removal of the bogus cycle lane sign #16530 "end of route" signs were added on Croft Holme Lane - #17385. On this section cyclists have to navigate two hairneedle bends with many lorries and HGV.
The sign was removed in June 2009 - (see #17382) route signs were added to the shared use pavement - #17386, #17387.
