[Image taken 28.9.21] North Street, junction with Bridge Street and Micklegate, York. The solid white line leading from an advisory cycle lane into an ASL (bike box). Pavement parking. There was a vehicle here when I passed. There was a van of the same colour and size when I returned. Likely the same one. This is an important - critical - link for residents, visitors and tourists. People on foot, on cycles, on scooters and accompanying wheelchair users and the wheelchair and mobility scooter users themselves. But there is often (more often than not) a vehicle parked here. It may not be the same one but the cumulative effect is that the cycle lane and pavement are obstructed, that sightlines are reduced and that public space has become a de facto parking spot. In fact, this is the same vehicle as on 21.9.21: #174350. And it was here when I used the route on 18.10.21, as was another vehicle - see: #175203
