[Image taken 11.10.21] Leeman Road, Memorial Gardens, York. This is part of the Scarborough Bridge to Ouse Bridge Flood Scheme diversion. Compare two wheelchair signs (see: #174807 and #174808) with the cyclist sign (see: #174806). The wheelchair signs have no route stickers. What is meant by "access"? People encountering can't know who they are intended for, where they take people, or which direction from here they need for their destination. Compare with cycle sign in the background. It has stickers showing it's on a numbered and a named route. It says why the sign is needed: "diversion". But it also does not say the direction the arrow is pointing to and, critical for local people, it does not list destinations in York it could help people reach: Millennium Bridge, Rowntree Park.
