[Image taken 23.10.21] Deangate, York. [NOTE: Streetview is not showing this set of toastracks.] The minimum recommended gap between uprights is 100cm. This is a shopping area and also has family groups who would share locks and therefore also a space. There is also a noticeable upstand - 3cm - for each linking rail. The child's cycle has a short wheelbase so does not straddle the rails. Balancing on rounded surfaces does not work so it falls over. Further reducing the space available for a second cycle but also making it difficult to right. Other image of these racks: #175253 and links.
