[Image taken 12.11.21] Station Road, York looking over the junction (with Station Rise) to Station Avenue. Road works signs - but what works are they for? What are the requirements for temporary signs? Can they be removed from the pavement and fixed to traffic lights and lamp posts, for example? And another warning about an event (see also: #175640). The aim of all the temporary signs is, I assume to 'increase safety'. But drivers are encased in metal cages, have powerful lighting and braking systems they can activate with minimal physical effort. The signs reduce the space available for vulnerable space users... pedestrians and people on cycles. See: #175805 and #175806. Other images today: #175797 and links.
