[UPDATE A reply from CYC dated 20.9.23 to a FoI from me dated 28.12.21 says: "The date the EV bays went live to the public was 22/04/2022."]
[Image taken 10.1.22] Marygate car park, York. [NOTE: No streetview at this location.] The hatched area is the gap to/from the car park and Railway Walk (NCN65) with links to riverside walks, schools, the rail station, tourist accommodation... The uprights against the fence in the background are charging points for EVs. Blue paint (visible to the right) has appeared at five bays. So perhaps this means they are live or are due to go live very soon. I'm concerned about the likely increase in vehicle movements at the point people are cycling, scooting (there are Tier e-scooters and e-cycles in the same car park see: #169647, overview Tier mobility products in York: #164663), walking, wheelchairing through the car park. (It's a short cut/a route avoiding the cobble stones.) And the increase in vehicle numbers and movements round the clock, for example on key cycling links such as Bootham and residential streets. Other images today: #177485 and links.
