[UPDATE: See: #178222] [Image taken 24.1.22] Marygate Lane junction with Railway Walk (to the right), York. [NOTE: No streetview at this location.] Steps (with cycle runner) to St Mary's at first opening. Works signs last week: #177853. This is a critical route for people on cycles including families. But yet again cyclists are not mentioned or provided for – a safe route through the car park would be possible as the EV bays are not yet in use. The invisibility of cyclists is a recurring issue. Many people who cycle in York hope the news – announced on Saturday 22 January 2022 – that the new cycling and walking body, Active Travel England (www.gov.uk/government/news/olympic-gold-medallist-and-cyclist-chris-boardman-to-lead-governments-new-active-travel-body), will be based in the city will improve standards here. This issue, this location in 2021: #167242 and in another location: #167364 and links. Other images this issue here today: #178078, #178079.
