[Image taken on 27.3.22] Tanner Row, York. I spent an hour or more with my dustpan and brush. There were shards of green glass and of orange glass. But most was clear. There's a large circular piece that suggests it came from a drinking glass. There's a pub further up the road. Is it not possible for a local authority to require pubs to check the street outside their premises every day and vacuum up hazards? I was here for at least an hour. I was wearing hi viz but I was necessarily partly on the (very narrow) pavement and completely obstructing the contraflow cycle lane. Pedestrians simply walked round me. Only two people on cycles used the lane and they left me a wide margin. I had been apprehensive about motorists' behaviour. Some vehicles felt as if they passed closer than necessary but I thought what I'd feared hadn't come to pass: intentional intimidation. Until the very final moments. As I was sweeping up the last rubbish a driver intentionally drove very close to me hooting and laughing. Other image documenting a similarly shocking issue today: #180533. Other image relating the glass here today: #180529. Other images today: #180522.
