[Image taken on 28.3.22] Bootham Park Hospital grounds, Bootham, York. This is not only an obstruction but also a trip hazard. I was here at around 17.10 on a weekday. There was a constant stream of people using the route (cyclists, pedestrians, runners). Each had to wait for others to clear the space: there's only room for one user at a time to pass through. Why the default restrictions on numbers for cycle provision: #180736? You cannot pass through in sociable or protective formation (adult holding a child's hand for example.) The gap slows all users and would not be accessible to someone with a buggy, in a wheelchair or mobility scooter, or with a wheeled walker... What about someone with crutches? And can partially sighted pedestrians navigate it? Context and links: #180718.
