[UPDATE: 22.6.22. At least part of the damage has been marked up for repair: #183663.] [Image taken 24.5.22] Burton Stone Lane, York. The tarmac around this grating is cracking and some has already come out. That means there's a sharp metal edge for cyclists (also sometimes mobility scooters as the pavements are so narrow) who are riding 'in the gutter'. The carriageway is narrow and motor traffic speeds are high (despite it being 20mph south of the junction with Field View). Many cyclists will feel intimidated and ride this close to the kerb. Edges like this can lead to instant 'pinch flats' with the characteristic 'snake bite' holes on the inner tube. A news report in local press (www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/20158925.york-spend-5-million-road-pavement-repairs/) from 23.5.22 said Burton Stone Lane is on a list for 'PATCHING' repairs to be carried out in the year 2022/2023. The report does not say which stretches will be treated. Therefore I will report this. Location this image: #182795. Other images today: #182796, #182797, #182857, #182858, #182859, #182860.
