As we were ready to leave an employee came out. I thought he was asking people to keep the crossing clear and turn off their engines. No. He was telling them there was a 20-minute wait. Some left. Others stayed. More arrived. Engines stayed on. The employee (French) said they were too busy to ask people to comply with the sign. He also said he was worried about the climate/the future: I've never experienced 40 degrees [before]...] [Image taken 10.8.22] Taco Bell, Monks Cross Drive, Huntington, York. A year after I sent my email about drivers not switching off their engines while queueing for food at this drive thru (context: #173069) and there’s an excellent outcome. There’s a new purple banner at Taco Bell ( It asks drivers to "Please switch off car engine while waiting". I hope they will. And think about doing so at other times and different locations, too.
