Traghetti are paddled across the Grand Canal in Venice, weaving in between the oncoming motorized Vaporetti - which act as the city's public system.

A traghetto is a gondola used as a ferry to cross the canal for 2.5 Euros. Two oars people propel the boat and many of the passengers stand.

This photo was taken from the upper floor of the Ca d'Oro gallery.
