[Image taken 28.9.22] Community Furniture Store (on the site of the Raylor Centre), James Street, York. Staff, volunteers, customers, people donating items have only this provision. It was full when I arrived but as the Store was closing people left. My cycle still wouldn’t fit in here… I have front racks. Further you can’t secure your frame to an immovable object so it is at risk and your insurance might not cover you in the event of theft. In any case this design is known as wheelbenders for good reason so best avoided unless there are sufficient you can lay your cycle at right angles across a number of these ‘paperclips’ as a co-campaigner calls them and secure both the wheels and the frame to the ones they are in contact with.
