[Image taken 30.10.22] Foss Islands Path (Wigginton Road end) York. [NOTE: No street view at this location.] I was emailing CYC to ask how the planning application for the Denning's Yard site (see: #183552) will impact on any plans it might have for the northbound continuation of the Scarborough Bridge to Bootham Park cycle route improvements scheme. I couldn't find an image of the access route to the link from Foss Islands Path (not owned by Sustrans sustrans.org.uk despite the sign here: #191294) to the segregated ped-cycle route alongside Wigginton Road northbound. So I took one. The route through this cutting is woefully narrow. Only one person (ped or cyclist) can use it at any one time. There are no or very restricted sight lines. It's very steep. It's not unusual to find someone has come off or, as the other day, jackknifed here. And those wet leaves add a slip hazard to the equation... Does it date from the same year – 1994 – as the access/exit to/from Foss Islands Path on the other side of the bridge: #173657? Other image today and links: #187309.
