[Image taken 7.11.22] Crichton Avenue, junction with Ashton Avenue (close to roundabout), York. This is the third or fourth time this year I've encountered a driver parking obstructing the segregated cycle-ped off road route or, as here, obstructing the drop kerb. (I don't use the route that much due to the damage in Clifton Backies – see: #186002 and links) and I can't recall it happening pre-2022. The result of the increase in car numbers and people using them rather than other forms of transport? The driver crossed Crichton Ave to the shops on the other side. If I'd been on the offroad path on my cycle (as happened before) and someone drives towards you on the pavement it's scary. You don't know their intentions, what control they have, if they will stop before they get to you. This is also part of the York Orbital (democracy.york.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx yorkshireridings.blogspot.com/p/york-orbital.html) in the direction of the camera. Other image today and links: #187542.
