[Image taken 31.12.22] Supersonic Cafe, The Stonebow, York. The cafe (supersonicfitness.co.uk/eat/) at the Supersonic Fitness Club (supersonicfitness.co.uk/) is open to all. It’s good. It's great for watching traffic - including cyclists on all designs of rig using The Stonebow. And it’s next to municipal cycle parking. The Sheffield racks are well spaced and well used – often full. But CYC won’t put in a dropped kerb to access it (see email below). Meaning you stop on the mini roundabout goo.gl/maps/GYWeTUHtXCa52dHV9and have to heave your cycle up the kerb. Many people can’t do this which makes the cycle parking inaccessible to some potential users.
In an email dated Wednesday, 26 September 2018, the CYC Traffic and Highway Development Manager wrote: "I have observed the new cycle parking being well utilised on multiple occasions. It would appear that it is not an unattractive location.
I believe general access to the cycle parking is acceptable. Users will probably choose to dismount and walk a few metres."
