[Image taken 25.1.23] Horner Street junction with Burton Stone Lane, York. Substantial tarmac damage and where pedestrians and people in mobility scooters will be crossing. This is new tarmac. Parts of Burton Stone Lane were patched and resurfaced in November 2022 (www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/23076028.burton-stone-lane-clifton-york-close-2-sections/) yet the works are already failing. (Note the latest incarnation of the restuarant/takeaway on the corner. It opened during lockdown 2020 as Voujon Spice. This closed then opened as Clifton Spice and Grill. That closed in autumn 2022. The new banner is heralding the arrival of Royal Spice. On 27.1.23 I noticed that the space where the van in this image is standing has been covered in Astroturf or something like it (see: #190863). Presumably not bowls/petanque coming to this corner but an external eating area.) Other image today and links: #190043.
