[UPDATE: All the signs relating to the works have been removed.] [Image taken 1.2.23] Bootham Terrace, York. I approached this street from the other direction. I saw there wasn't enough space for anyone let alone a wheelchair user or parent holding the hand of a dependant for example to pass. When I was this side of the sign and I saw the message, my first thought, as I was on my cycle, was "Not in my name." This sign for CYC works nearby leaves just 51cm of pavement unobstructed. The person in the image was happy to pose for me to show he had to walk in the road. And people who with mobility issues? With sight problems? CYC is lax about signage positioning. There is also no information board saying who is doing the works, the duration and the contact details. So people are unable to report problems such as this. Other related images in this street: #190590, #190591. I also think the information is confusing. A sign with direction information for cyclists could be more helpful for some. Other image today and links: #190579.
