[UPDATE: On 22.4.23 I saw - experienced - the resurfacing was complete: #193302, #193303] [UPDATE: On Monday 17 April 2023 I got a text message from one of York's cycle couriers telling me resurfacing works have started. They were ongoing when I rode over Ouse Bridge on the evening of 19.4.23] [Image taken 13.2.23] Low Ousegate, York. The damage here had got so extensive I was unable to document it with images. On 5.1.23 I asked the Executive Member for Transport for help. He replied on 7.1.23: “I agree with you that this whole carriageway is in a very poor state. The worst individual locations can be addressed as reactive repair such the new pothole you mention. Full resurfacing however requires longer term planning (3 months notice to allow for bus diversions, traffic management in place (as happened when some of this patching was created by utility operators!). Copying to member enquiries to ask for an updated inspection and reactive work to address immediate concerns.” The surface was patched. The repairs stand out. I was therefore able to take images. The number of them gives an idea of the area affected though – alas - not of the depth of each of the potholes. I hope the resurfacing of this route will take place in 2023.
