[UPDATE: #193043 Further, more extensive, damage]

[Image taken 5.4.23] Burton Stone Lane (looking south), York.

MY EXPERIENCE 1:
I went back to this location this afternoon to take this image to be able to put up a complaint I made about a taxi driver when I rode along BSL this morning. I wrote:
"Hello
There is a 20mph limit on Burton Stone Lane between Field View and Clifton t
There are lots of signs alerting road users to it.
At the southern end of Burton Stone Lane – the Clifton end – there are additional measures to reduce the speeds of motorists.
There is a VAS in each direction showing drivers what their speed is . It lights up and shows the words: SLOW DOWN when someone exceeds 20mph.
There are also speed cushions.
In October 2022, further infrastructure was installed to try to reduce drivers’ speeds.
The carriageway is narrowed at two points. Only one road user at a time is supposed to move between them. There are signs. There are give way markings. There are splitter islands. There are wands.
At 13.20/13.25 today Wednesday 5 April 2023 I had stopped at the entrance to the measures. There was a driver entering the other end.
The driver of taxi number 400 was behind me. There was an oncoming vehicle. The taxi driver:
- set off the VAS;
- did not slow down;
- did not stop behind me;
- passed me
- crossed the speed cushion at the entry to the new traffic-calming measures;
- entered the restricted area."

MY EXPERIENCE 2:
After taking this image I continued cycling towards Clifton. A van driver entered the 'pound' despite my being in it and close to the entry point. I was wearing my hi viz jerkin.

MY EXPERIENCE 3:
On my way back (northwards) through the 'pound' a driver started to move towards the entrance to it despite my being close to exiting from it. He did move back behind the giveway lines but it was unnerving. It was daylight and I was wearing my hi viz jerkin. The driver was bound by the same markings and signage as in this image.

NOTE: On the pavement between the pole with the 'Give way to oncoming vehicles sign' and the wall, you can just see the end of a wand. It's the one from: #192207. It's been broken since around 20.3.23. CYC said they know. It is a hazard and could be used as a weapon. I have removed it and will ask CYC what I should do with it. [UPDATE: On 18.4.23 CYC responded I could take it to the pedestrian and cyclist area of the recycling centre on Hazel Court (see: #193086). I did so.
