[Image taken 11.4.23] Marygate car park, Railway Walk, York. [NOTE: No street view at this location] Railway Walk is an ‘all non motorised user route’. Different widths of user (machine), different speeds (including differing levels of urgency - this is a key route to/from the train station), different mobility capabilities... It’s narrow for this amount and variety of user (see: #169289). For that reason when we can see pedestrians, for example, ahead some York residents cycle through the car park parallel to Railway Walk. Despite several years of requests and, I’d thought agreement it needed to happen and would, the exits from/entrances to the car park are not defined or signed. This means drivers block them. My cycle – with front and rear panniers – is about as wide as a standard wheelchair/pushchair, or a full-sized human holding the hand of an infant. And I made light contact with the vehicle as I tried to pass it today.
