[Image taken 30.4.23] Haxby and Wiggington Methodist Church, The Village, Haxby. Sheffield racks in use during the 2023 Scarecrow Festival (context and links: #193497). Users include a family sharing locks. But a driver has parked his/her vehicle too close to one the end of the rack. The car is obstructing the outside end rack. The ‘Getting here’ by bike or bus section of the website (www.hwmc.org.uk/scarecrows) makes it clear the racks are in demand “You’re welcome to use these whilst in our building.” These end spaces are invaluable – they accommodate larger and wider cycles (used by families see: #183748, used by people with mobility issues: #185679) and kit (see: #183669). I would not have used the inside of the end rack either knowing my handlebars might touch the paintwork of the motor vehicle. Parking so close to the racks mean that two spaces of eight are unusable. Other image this problem today: #193499. Other image this event today: #193497.
