[Image taken 6.5.23] Northern Rail train, York rail station, York. NOTE: No street view at this location] If I am able to lift my cycle onto the rack (it means taking my panniers off) my cycle does not fit in the space designated. I would need to remove my bags, turn the cycle - usually impossible due to the presence of other passengers and hazardous if the train is moving, and lift it from the 'wrong' ie the chain side. Then reverse this when I wanted to leave the train. If other people get on who want to travel further than I am going, then the logistics and the limited space make it too problematic. Plus, I don't like to lift my cycle unnecessarily. I have damaged my back doing this over the years. Other image here today and links: #193815.
